Why We’re Transitioning from Life’s Abundance to Purina Pro Plan
At EverHeart Labradoodles, we are committed to raising happy, healthy puppies and supporting our families with the very best guidance we can provide. 
Part of that commitment includes making thoughtful choices about nutrition.
For years, we have fed our dogs Life’s Abundance, and it has served us well. But after much research, conversations with our veterinary partners, and close observation of our own dogs, we’ve decided it’s time to make a change.
We are now transitioning our program to Purina Pro Plan.
🌿 Why the Change?
✨ Veterinary Recommendation
Purina Pro Plan is one of the most widely recommended foods by veterinarians, including board-certified veterinary nutritionists. It’s backed by decades of research, feeding trials, and an unmatched commitment to quality.
✨ Availability & Convenience
Life’s Abundance can only be ordered online, and sometimes shipments are delayed. Purina Pro Plan, on the other hand, is readily available at pet stores, farm supply stores, and online retailers, making it easy for families to purchase anytime, anywhere.
✨ Research-Backed Nutrition
Purina Pro Plan has extensive science behind its formulas. The company invests in ongoing research and tailors nutrition to specific needs — from puppies and active dogs to sensitive systems.
✨ Chicken Sensitivity Considerations
Many doodles — including Australian Labradoodles — have mild sensitivities to chicken-based diets. To better support our dogs’ skin and digestive health, we’ll be feeding Purina Pro Plan Puppy Lamb & Rice Formula. This formula provides complete, balanced nutrition while avoiding chicken as the main protein source — a win for sensitive pups!

We want our EverHeart families to have access to a food that’s easy to find, backed by science, and supported by veterinarians. Purina Pro Plan checks all those boxes and helps ensure consistency from our home to yours.
🐾 What This Means for Our Puppies
All of our puppies will now be raised on Purina Pro Plan Puppy Lamb & Rice Formula. Families adopting from EverHeart Labradoodles will receive clear feeding recommendations that align with this change, plus guidance for a gradual transition if needed.
We’ll continue to monitor our dogs and puppies closely, as we always do, to ensure they’re thriving on this diet. Our commitment to their health and wellbeing will never change.
Helping You Transition
If your EverHeart Labradoodle was raised on Life’s Abundance and you’d like to switch, we recommend transitioning slowly to avoid stomach upset:
1. Mix 25% Purina Pro Plan with 75% Life’s Abundance for 3–4 days.
2. Then move to 50/50 for 3–4 days.
3. Next, go to 75% Purina Pro Plan with 25% Life’s Abundance.
4. Finally, feed 100% Purina Pro Plan.
This gradual approach helps your doodle adjust comfortably to the new food.
